Off white, pourable anthelmintic suspension, containing 3.4% w/v Oxyclozanide BP (Vet) (34mg/ml).
For the treatment and control of chronic fascioliasis in cattle and sheep. Oxyclozanide at the recommended dose rate, removes practically all flukes (Fasciola spp) present in the bile ducts.
Dosage & Administration
Give as an oral drench.
Dose according to bodyweight as follows:
3ml/10kg; (10mg/kg oxyclozanide), for example:
50kg (approx. 1 cwt)
100kg (approx. 2 cwt)
150kg (approx. 3 cwt)
200kg (approx. 4cwt)
250kg (approx. 5 cwt)
300kg (approx. 6 cwt)
350kg and over
(7 cwt and over)
Drench can be given in the feed to cattle which are fed individually. Pour the recommended dose onto their concentrate ration. Molasses or salt may be added for shy feeders.
4.5ml/10kg; (15mg/kg oxyclozanide), for example:
10kg (approx. 22lb)
20kg (approx. 44lb)
30kg (approx. 66lb)
40kg (approx. 88lb)
45kg and over
(approx. 100lb and over)
The bodyweight of animals should be assessed as accurately as possible before calculating the dosage. Care must be taken when administering by dosing gun. Do not use in known cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient. At the normal dose level, oxyclozanide may sometimes cause slight softening of the faeces in cattle with the occasional animal showing increased frequency of defaecation and transient inappetance. Side effects are occasionally enhanced in animals suffering from severe liver damage and/or dehydration at the time of dosing.
Can be given to young, pregnant and lactating animals and those in a debilitated condition (in the absence of intercurrent disease).
However, due regard must always be given to the physical condition of animals undergoing treatment, particularly those in advanced pregnancy and/or under stress from adverse weather conditions, poor nutrition, penning, handling, etc.
Milking cattle, particularly high yielders, may occasionally show a reduction in yield of 5% or more for about 48 hours after handling. The effect of this can be minimised by spreading herd dosing over a period of about one week.
Wash hands after use. Dispose of used containers safely.
Protection of Consumers
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Cattle and sheep may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 28 days from the last treatment. Milk for human consumption must not be taken during treatment. Milk for human consumption may be taken from cows only after 3 days from the last treatment. The product must not be used in sheep producing milk for human consumption.
Do not store above 25ºC. Protect from light. Unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with current practice for pharmaceutical waste under national waste disposal regulations.
